Living in Winton
In the heart of Winton is a busy high street, Wimborne Road, with an array of different shops. Winton banks, as the name suggests, lots of banks, supermarkets, butchers, bakers, discount warehouse G&T’s, home furnishing shops, cafes, boutiques, interesting clothes shops, Jewellers, phones, printing, shoes, trophies, wedding shops, professional services – in fact, I’m unsure which type of shop in not in Winton. The main high street is one of the longest I have ever come across contining through Moordown, it stretches for miles. There is so much going on in Winton, its tricky to know where to start.
Maybe at the farmers market, every saturday on Cardigan Road buying local produce. Winton carnival, a great day out at the end of June usually ending at Winton recreation ground with a fantastic family festival atmosphere, the smell of burgers and hot dogs, bouncy castles, face painting with a stage providing the music and funky tunes. Winton recreation ground, with the 90 year old cricket pavilion, bowls club, tennis courts, cycle track, childrens playground and cricket pitch. Lastly some very good schools.
